Radioactive Shelter [not multiplayer]

I've made a small mini-game, (single player, no register needed), you try to survive on a barren wasteland. Can provide enjoyment for a few minutes.

WHAT!? My top is 150 days but I played it many, many times during balance finetuning. On my gamesite no one reached day 100 yet... You are unhuman :D

No, you are just normal. You are supposed to get above 100 days after a few days (and only if you are good). It's just that the other people here are abnormal :D

should make sense that you loose more health if you are out of water then out of food...like RL

Wow, guess I'm lamer than :) Those traps and shelters...I thought 20/30 is a lot... though I found weapon 10 quite low, I lose many fights with it still

But very nice game...would be great if being a fully fledged game ... I love these enviromnents (fallout, stalker...)

Very fun and addicting game! Nice work!!

Are you planning or think of maybe using some AJAX to communicate with the server and just updating the middle display rather then a full page refresh?

This game has given me an idea on the next contest ;)

I find munition quite rare, especially when compared to how often you encounter mutants, water is not as common either

There was a bug, the radiation was not taken into account into v2.00. Try to survive now :D

No, I do not plan to make AJAX or anything like that, it's just a mini game tossed together and polished in a few hours. Originally I planned to make a full fledged post apocalyptic BBG, but you know how it's like, so I made this minigame to not let the domain go to waste :D

Anti RAD pill reduces radiation effect by 50% only, you still lose some health uner its effect.

OK, I'm going to make a full fledged BBG set in post nuclear world. I don't have specific concept yet, so dump here all ideas connected to game with such setting (can be unrealated and incompatible, for now it is just brainstorming).


Design guidelines:
- There has to be a full reset, somewhere between 1-3 months.
- I don't want it to be RPG. Reason; RPG genre sux and people don't play it, at least those made by me (the best one I ever made have a mere 600 daily players during peak times...) I don't know why it is and I'm not really thrilled to find out, I'm just fed up with the genre at least for a while :)
- There has to be a competition aspect.


My first vision of the game:
It is a simulation of living in a post nuclear world. Player's main concern is food, health and staying alive (partially similar to the minigame). The longer they play the more difficult it becomes (but not progressive), the radiation takes its tool, the effect of unhealthy life hinders efficiency and so on. There is also some kind of score (survival points?) which is the ultimate goal of the game (high score at the end of the round).

One thought that occured to me is that this setting gives you an ideal setting to reverse the standard increasing resources games...

In many games players have more and more resources available as they progress....perhapes you could try out a game where the avaliable resources dwindle away....where at the end every player dies.....the goal being to last as long as possible.....just like your mini game :)

also if you kept the game relatively simple like the current mini game then you could have multiple rounds running at the same time....perhapes start a new round every week......as im sure your aware first mover advantage is a real issue within a lot of round bassed games....

as for specific game ideas, one that occurs to me is to allow players a few days to position themselves at the start of the game, prior to the actual holocost....and then have the holocost occur (randomly?), then depending on how areas were affected players could migrate from the worst affected areas to those with the best survival chances.....only to die in the end MWHAHAHA.....erm excuse me.
