Personally, what I would like to see is the community pick up either ExoFusion or Gamers-Fusion and tweak it to a nice robust game engine like Legend of the Green Dragon. EF/GF are both "dead" from the original coders. It's a good game but has a LOT of common programming mistakes and is just BEGGING for a good clean rewrite.

The game engine itself is very open, and programmed correctly, a person only need to change a couple files, edit the head/footer and have a whole new genera of a game. I've seen medival games, mech games, cyberpunk games and warfare games all come from this engine.

Anyways food for thought, I'm currently tinkering with it and I may just start a new thread and document my changes as I go to show how to get from point a to point b ;)

Heh, funny you should write this.  I have been doing the same thing.  At first I was just going to make exofusion work with register_globals off, but then I just kept tinkering with it.  For some reason I just keep getting drawn back to it.

hey guys, I know ExoFusion and Gamers-Fusion are good game engines to use for starting an text-beased rpg, but unfortunately, I could not find the codes to those anywhere in the sourceforge site as the projects are dead.
I'd appreciate if you guys describe in more details the limitations that these frameworks have, what's good and wha's not to like about them.
Also, I'd really appreciate if some of you guys can posts some url to download the last publically released versions of ExoFusion and Gamers-Fusion.

Thanks a million.

Well, all download links to the game scripts are also dead..

I'm not sure about gamers fusion. The script for gamers fusion should still be on sourceforge, while you can find exofusion/silentstalk in the scripts vault here.

The good thing about the scripts are that they're complete, and really easy to setup. But the coding is pretty old, so it might take a lot of tweaking to get it going well.
