1) Do you guys know some free opensource alternatives to softwares like phpAudit or CodeLock ?

2) And how far is the usage of these software good (apart from encrypting your codes for security ;) )?

I have used codelock before and it is good and easy to setup.

It is only good for scripts you make and will not host yourself, or will distribute as a demo (for example). This will keep others that have acess to the source script for reading it.
