gzip to speed up your site

Not sure if  this helps anyone but as I installed Yslow some time back I decided as I am learning to code and  Gzip files as I go . So for any that need the info.

and to gzip you external css  or js files this site has 2 ways to do it LINK

I recommend yslow and gzip as well. Didn't read OP's link yet, but its possible to gzip it via .htaccess, more on askapache.com (I think it's com)...isn't the link to yahoo's performance tips web page in one of the bbg's tutorials?
