MYSQL Errors

Never had this problem before but all of a sudden I'm getting these errors when ever you use certain characters such as " or  ' when you put them into a field thats being uploaded to the DB it gives the following error.


You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'll be there when its back on :)' , '2010-10-29 01:06:45' , '0' , '0' )' at line 3

All sorted :) Thank you used the functions to add / remove slashes :)
