APE Server
« on: September 02, 2009, 11:09:52 AM »
Just wondering what everyone thinks of the APE server: http://www.ape-project.org/

Basically you run it alongside apache (preferably on a different sub-domain, to allow port 80), apache loads up the initial page, and then javascript connects to APE, which you can send/receive commands from all the time, and I assume the APE server itself can store data in the memory rather than polling MySQL all the time.

The demo is awesomely fast :D

I checked it out a few days ago. But it only can be installed on Linux :(, that was my big turn off :P.

Otherwise it sounds very cool :).

I had the same worries but with jQuery. You can get their javascript interface set up with other frameworks.

From what I was reading, all of the events are still handled by MooTools though.... Would loading scriptaculous and mootools at be much of a worry? Ive never really thought about the user's specs before....
