For some reason i cannot get PHP My Admin to work. All the guides i read talk about files that DID NOT install when i downloaded PHP's windows installer VC6 as i also installed Apache. For some reason i can't get it to work. I don't understand why it's not installing but it's still doing the same thing it did back in the RC PHP did not want to install on my system. Now i'm on a different computer same OS Windows 7 x64 but it's sitll yet to decide to work.

Has anyone out there actually gotten PHP and PHPmyadmin to install on windows 7?

I got xampp running on windows 7, but I haven't tried to install them separate. Are there any error message? Is Apache running as it should, and is php enable (check with phpinfo() )?

Windows 7... I'm so glad that I always just build my own PC because I hate that Microsoft just recruits the whole world to be their alpha testers. ;)

I wonder how long it will be before I start hearing cries of, "Windows 7 sucks! This piece of crap software won't work!" lol

Here's a quick Microsoft to English translation guide:
Microsoft Release Stage -> What the stage 'really' is
Stable -> Alpha Release
Service Pack 1 -> Beta Release
Service Pack 2 -> Stable Version

Hope this is helpful :P

i know ALL too well how bad windows 7 is. I'm only using it due to GIMP not being able to do all of those tiny things i'm used to doing in photoshop, and also Open Office randomly still messing up my word documents my other designers are sending to me after they comment on it.

Windows 7 does suck. It's literally vista warmed over. It's literally more like Vista SP3 to be completely fair. It behaves about like vista with a 3rd service pack. It starts off being pretty good but goes down fast. I'd be using windows xp but the 64bit version of xp sucks royally in terms of stability and driver support since my laptop's new. Also my MAIN os is Ubuntu. I just boot into 7 when i feel like...well using photoshop or playing a game w/o worrying.

I might just go back to ubuntu though as it seems this issues been here since RC.

And no error messages. I go to the My PHP Admin page and it just shows me the PHP code. I was using that as areference if my code was working on my end so i could begin workign out the engine. As i'm used to C/Z80 coding. I wanted to jump into php and start learning a bit more than my basic knowledge of it.

:P I'm running win7 x64 for a long time without any issue and the same for my friends

I use WAMP (http://www.wampserver.com/en/download.php) and PHP, phpMyAdmin and everything works just fine...

I'm with Nox on this one ...

I've been using Win 7 x64 for about 4+ months with no problems other than WMP 12 being a POS. And, WAMP works flawlessly.

If it outputs php code, and no error messages then php is not running or is wrongly configured.

I got to agree with Nox and karnedge that there is nothing wrong with Win 7 (x64).

Windows 7 x64 does have some issues. It's all about which version you're using. The beta was doing pretty well. But the final release has given me a tad bit more toruble then the rest. After about 1 month of running it. And by you guys syaing you've been running it for 4 months tells me that you're still running the Betas. Beta was doing pretty well for me. Never did i try doing any php on that version. I'm using currently Windows 7 x64 Ultimate. Not the RC or Beta. After ~30 days of being installed the RTM/Retail copies of 7 start fucking up. I've already tried wamp before and it didn't do much help. I'll try it again but i doubt it'll do much good. Windows 7 is just a slightly better version of Vista to be completely honest. It sure does look nice when you first have the Retail version. But then as the days go on it just gets slightly worse with each passing day.

I'll refrain from further commenting on the win7 thing but - have you tried installing WAMP or XAMPP then? I don't know if you're ok with installing a whole package, but (not just) for me it does work so it might solve your issue

woops forgot to reply to this thread. Wamp works on my pc so now it's all running well just seems installing seperately causes random issues.
