My Entry(Rawrmy)
« on: October 15, 2008, 11:04:05 AM »
I will be entering this contest as well, with a thus-far unnamed game. I have a team of two, currently; myself and a writer.

We will be building a medieval RPG-styled game, that is primarily single-player(although I'm hoping to add in PvP by the judging date). We will be using a two-tiered turns system(more on this later) to manage player actions.

The game will be built with Django.

I have been considering releasing weekly updates on the game's development progress on http://buildingbrowsergames.com, but am not sure how the community would react - if anyone could chime in with their opinion, that would be great. I'm also open to publishing other entrants updates on their games, if anyone who has entered is interested and doesn't already have a blog - just get in touch.

After some consideration, I have decided that I'll be writing once-weekly progress posts over on http://buildingbrowsergames.com. They will be appearing each monday. You can visit http://buildingbrowsergames.com/category/diaryofabrowsergame/ to view only those posts.

I was kinda bummed when I read the post that you're putting Working Title on hold for now. I've been working on a game similar to 'Rawrmy' using the tutorials you have provided.

But best of luck! ;D

Hi lewt24,

I've done some re-organizing and linking - if you were looking for tutorials, you should be able to find them at http://buildingbrowsergames.com/tutorials.

@Boltgog: yeah, it always pains me to put things on hold. Sometimes it has to happen, though - I still want to finish Working Title. Maybe once this contest is over, I'll re-visit it. My other team member has been incommunicado for a few days, though - and the idea behind Rawrmy is fairly writing-intensive(and I'd rather write the code :P). It's possible that Working Title may return, as my entry to this contest - but we will see.

Cool. If you need some more help writing for the game, I would be happy to help.

I'm afraid Rawrmy has to drop out of this contest - you can read a brief write-up here. I will still be writing and posting a post-mortem on thursday, and hope to deploy what I have - but no longer as a serious contender.
