Walking trough a city animation/game

Is it possible to develop a game in flash, where you can walk trough to a city?
Like walking in the street, getting inside houses, etc.    (Just like Nintendo 64 Zelda)

Any if it's possible, where can I start?
Do you know of any great tutorials?

Bigpoint is developing something alike; Poisonville. However, this is something impossible for you to code alone. 3D for browsergames is yet still in its infancy, therefore development with 3D technologies is very time-, and for companies like Bigpoint very moneyconsuming.

In summary, I recommend to stay with good old 2D technologies. If you still want to have a look: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web3D.

Creating 2D flash games (like zelda on the gameboy is absolutely possible. You won't find a from start to finish guide though. You will have to learn flash and learn how to build the game afterwards. Don't limit yourself to guides that use only flash as an example but check out tutorials for other languages too, because the basics of creating a 2D game are the same (like animation for example).

You should definitely check out http://wiki.gamedev.net/ ! If you have some basic knowledge of flash you will be able to get started. But don't forget to begin small, it will take a lot of your time.

One of the greatest tile based games tutorial I've read is here: http://www.tonypa.pri.ee/tbw/ It's for Flash but the basic priciples are the same.
