So like so many of us who tinker with the browser games as a hobby here I am yet once again, Being bored waiting for the upcoming WoW expansion
I have been revising my previous attempts at my game. Seeing How I see even with the main site no longer being kept update the forums are
thankfully still being used.
So that aside I'd like opinion's and feedback for what i have on paper so far, seeing I have only really coded the basic framework ie login,registration, basic index/main pages
with a news section.
(Due to my own personal lack of trust with people stealing idea's i will give a generic overview)

4 Char types
1 More combat based
1 more technology based
1 well rounded
1 wild card char (increased luck/chance)
Generic Mech Concept, players will design and use mechs to perform combat,quests etc.The Piliots stats will be a extension of the Mech,being that
controls etc will be assisted requiring a actual physical ability to use ie a skinny brainiac will not have sufficient strength to pilot a
200 ton mech's controls.(think driving your parents 1970 anything with no steering assist)
All mechs will have a Pilot stat minimum to piliot ie heavy mechs require more str, fast mechs will require a balance of str and dex, and mechs
with lots of toys will require dex and int.
level cap for the time being will be set to 50 giving 216 total stat points to each player. The 196 for the 49 gained levels, and the bonus 20
assigned to each character class.
Mechs Will not be for the most part "cookie cutter" you will be able to purchase a entire mech set, or have the option within set guidelines to mix and
match parts.
Most parts will be upgradable to a extent ie
BFG = 6 ammo capacity, 800lb weight 10,000 dmg
could turn into
BFG= 12 ammo capacity, 400lbs weight, 5,000 dmg
BFG= 3 ammo capacity, 1600lbs weights, 20,000dmg
It would be a generic scaling, if you want more ammo, you do less damage, if you want more damage you suffer the weight, and get less ammo.
The reason for this is because so often especially in WoW that once you got something you where locked in with it, and everyone else especially once
a setup was found to be more productive had the exact same thing. The customizing allowing for a more diverse playing field.
The same setup would apply as well to the other various parts of the mech, upgrade load = less speed, more speed = less load, more armor/durability = heavier and slower
Other then the generic mech part( Again was used for examples purpose I promise it will not be Mech Assault *gag* )
It would eventually have the standard game features ie forums, chat, in game mail, clans etc.
My main concern with this is balance due to the fact I have a personal preference for the hybrid builds or uncommon builds it seems in most games i play
I am wondering if the cap at 50 helps me to balance the game by having to scale up right away for say lvl's 1-200 etc, and only concentrating on the first 50
for the time being, and then later on raising the level cap.
