Multiprogrammer Game
« on: February 12, 2010, 10:12:34 AM »
I tough I would launch the idea to see where it could get.

Imagine we are to build a PBBG all together. What would be the bases for this kind of game. What universe an storyline would we agree on ? Is there a way we can build many smaller games and bring them together under a common story ? What would the players ( and certainly other programmers ) would have to do ? What type of points system should we use ?

any other questions ?

I will list below all questions I'm interested in regarding this project:
- Can there be naked elven girls in the story/theme/universe? Please, please, please!

If it's a Shadowrun-style magic/tech hybrid setting, then (in proper SR tradition) they could be naked lesbian cyber-ninja elf girl twins.  How's that work for you?  :D

Yeah. Not all of us have fully perverted thoughts as you, dsheroh, do. We have semi perverted only :D

And mixing elves and technology is against Tolkien's heritage!

Wow nice starter ...

So you basically need to have naked people around ... no wonder how porn bring so much money ...

So maybe we should agree on some ground rules for this game ...

1 - No porn, ads, marketing references etc ... Our game must be a GAME and also throw the player into a gaming universe ...
2 - No illegal thing such a copyright etc ...
3 - No personnal profits, all profits are used in the game for servers and ameliorations ...

How about this. There are naked elven girls, but these have cloths so you do not see they are naked. They are definitely naked but the nakedness starts after the layer of clothing. I think this should be acceptable to all people :)

3) I do not know I like to eat breakfast each day and also I like to pay all required taxes (you know, there is a poor internet connection in prisons). Technicly point 2 & 3 are mutually exclusive in legislation of some countries (unless you start an official non profit organisation/fundation).

I think I must explain point 2

I mean that the game cannot include copyrighted stuff that we do not own. There should be no illegal things in our game. That may seem obvious but I must declare it from the beginning to avoid futur problems.

Of course the game would be under an open license but thats for further debate. Im currently more looking into what type of game we could all agree on.
