Probably not very usable in BBGs, but hey we don't have many videocasts about gamedesign so we can not complain. This guy tend to make lenghty unrelated speeches/advertising before the content starts, but again, too few competition so we can not afford to complain :D

Interesting, it makes me wonder what other game mechanics that I'm missing out on because I don't play board games.

I found that one in Nox's signature :) It is not about game design, but still I see a strong connection, because these questions you have to answer anyway when you make an online game that is to be played by non hardcore players.
