SMS Payment
« on: August 08, 2011, 03:57:45 PM »
In the past i have used GL Payment (green light) i think.

They was okay but after 3 months i wanted to withdraw my money and they said it needs to be over something stupid and i thought im never gonna get that unless i win the lotto so i just up'd and left.

Now im with Paygol, the service is just really crap and they don't like to pay out whats owed to me, after ripping me off in the first place.

Any ideas? Good expirance?

sorry to hear you got ripped off by so many... I dont think there is really a GREAT payment gateway for SMS. I know of a few people that use SMS gateways and they complain about them all the time.

Majority of mobile payment companies is scam. You can partially sort these out by checking PageRank (because it means that at least the site is old and has some sort of reputation). Personally, I would not go with anything below PageRank 3.

GL Payment - Page Rank 1 !!! (this is some kind of joke, right?)
Paygol - Page Rank 2
DaoPay - Page Rank 4
allopass  - Page Rank 4

But I'm not gonna use them again, what is daopay like? Anyone used it before? Are the rates okay? (Stupid question.)

As with all SMS payment processors, Daopay's rates suck lol However, we have been using them since the beginning of 2007 and have had no issues at all. We've always gotten our payouts automatically deposited to PayPal without any hassle.

I have been using DaoPay sporadicly, no problems. It seems they have the best payouts, but they lack US, so it's kind of pointless in a long run. Allopass seem to be decent (but I have not used them), it is a big company, not a temporary scam.

I would never go by pagerank to determine age of a company. I can get a PR3 of any new site for no more then $50 in advertising within next page rank update. So my 1-2month site can get a PR3 or higher fast.

I use daopay and zaypay. Rates always suck because there's so many hands in the pot, but users seem to like the option.

Fortumo is quite good  - no set up costs, or monthly fee http://fortumo.com/

Fairly easy widget you drop on you payment page, and they lead you through pricing and determining what pricing strategy you and to use.

Downsides are you need at least €50 due to you to trigger a payout and there is a 3 month lag on payments - but I think that could be standard fare

:)
And that's why "professional" sites that don't have even PR3 must be a scam (or run by extremely incompetent people, which is the same in the end).

Take a look at PaymentWall (www.PaymentWall.com). They have lots of great payment options and on the mobile side include Zong which is quite huge and sure not to rip you off.

Gotta hate that fee the carriers take though. What a killer !
