White Hat usage
« on: October 11, 2009, 03:34:19 AM »
My game is still in closed beta, but it should be opening up to open beta pretty soon. For now I have a handful of beta testers that have discovered a fari number of bugs and reported them. But I'm considering getting a hold of a few White Hat Hackers to sift through to game before I move onto the next stage of release.

But I'm not sure,w ould anyone have any opinions/suggestions for the use of White Hats? :)

Thanks in advance,

~Glenugie~

Anyone conversant in penetration testing is probably unlikely to spend their time testing PBBGs. If I were you, I'd look back over logs from your previous games and find multis and other cheaters and ask those people to help. They're already involved in the games, understand their common vulnerabilities, and have cultivated a set of tricks for exploiting them.

Found this old but relevant thread on the forums:

SQL Injection, Cross Site Scripting, Session Management Attacks and Cross Site Request Forgery would be the topmost items to prevent.
