Nintendo Wii
« on: October 13, 2009, 09:06:41 AM »
Although dismissed by many as childish, I decided to buy a Wii about 6 months back and I think its a cool gaming device. Something that my wife also agrees totally with. For a first few months, I played only Wii Sports. The current favorite game for the family is Guitar Hero 3.

Along the way, I played Lego Star Wars, Grand Slam Tennis, Call of Duty 3.

Anyone else here a Wii fan?

I'm contemplating getting one before they disappear for the holidays. Only $200 right now. I only played one for a little bit but it actually WAS good exercise... well for a lazy coder like myself at least. ;)

Yeah they are a good workout.

Grand Slam Tennis is good to work out, but the best game that I played that gives you a good workout is the boxing game that comes in the Sports disc. You have to throw punches and keep the upper part of the body moving..

I had to pay around $300 for it.. but i think it was a good deal.

The wii gets boring pretty fast and tend to collect dust most the time so unless you want a part time game system i would think twice about getting one

Console systems are ALWAYS part-time game systems for me. So... sounds fair enough! lol :P

The Wii is best for parties and gatherings. I don't play mine too often, but when friends are over it's always an event

Yeah.. From the time, I have the Guitar Hero setup, most of my friends come over to play with it. Not that GH is specific to Wii.

The fact that a Wii controller reacts differently, not like a typical game controller, makes it more appealing for non-hardcore gamers.
