Alcohol as energy, would it bother players?

Pirates have grog and rum, when you run out of it you can not attack (traditional energy bar). Would such "use of alcohol" in a game be troublesome to players? I should note here that my games have probably more sensitive and probably older audience, strictly moderated communication features with no swearing allowed and generally can be considered family friendly.

I wonder if it is already too much or not yet...

Why not?  Grog and rum is thematically appropriate for a pirate game, even a child friendly one.

1) It's expected (probably even demanded) that pirate game != rabbits, rainbowns, unicorns
2) Take a look at the Pirates of the Caribbean, it's for kids too and there's tons of drinking
