Because a lot more people have a connection to freenode.net for the development channels and #bbgamezone was pretty much abandonded anyways.

If you have an iphone you can probably find a IRC app.

I'm not an expert with those types of phones, but if you haven't already, try looking up some apps for it, maybe there is an IRC one.

I'm using Firefox and I get stuck connecting. I think I have the same problem.

just enter a nick and #bbg as the channel

Yeah, sorry, I forgot Freenode blocked Mibbit from connecting because there were a few abusive users and they didn't care to block by hostmask.

Gnoh's link is perfect for folks who want to connect without installing a chat client.
