That indeed looks pretty sexy!

Building the code is half the fun tho, so I likely wouldn't use it in the end ;D

My first thought was "ugh not another one".

... Then (against my better judgment) I watched the video. Okay, I was actually impressed. I don't impress easily. Looks like they're taking their project really seriously. I found their website at: http://www.dextrose.com/en/projects/aves_engine

Some things that perked my interest:
...server-application environment based on C and JavaScript
...also integrate a code repository system and deployment tools which will easily bring your latest versions to hundred of servers
...supports any world size through sharding

It seems like it would be complete overkill for most folks; it would likely mean a client would have to deploy an entire application framework onto their server. Still, totally a project worth watching.

If these guys succeed, however, expect a renewed flurry of javascript game engines.  :-[

We are in the early stages of the Aves Engine development bringing the pieces together while in parallel building the Open-World project Aves Community as a show case. We are happy to show interested investors, gamestudios and publishers working prototypes of the game engine to demonstrate performance and commercial prospects.

We are also currently handpicking a few studios who are going to be beta licensees in the beginning of 2011. They will get a headstart using our technology in one of their upcoming games.

If you are a AAA-Studio or large publisher don’t hesitate to contact us, no matter if you are member of the traditional gameindustry and want to enter the browsergames market or if you are already focusing on browsergames. We are happy to discuss terms of licensing and implications of being one of the first studios to use a technology which is by far the best available on the web right now!

It does look like one of the more promising browser game engines, shame it's not open source :P

Question: is there around an opensource framework for pbbgs that can help to make the game graphic presentation like this one (or similar)?

I don't know of anything for isometric, and searching though google, I'm not seeing anything good... It all seems to be half-done one-man projects.  ???
Projects: Pith Framework (at 0.5), CactusGUI (at 0.3)
