He discarded Flash because it is not widely supported but have no problems with HTML5+CSS3 :) I love when people contradict themselves :D

That's interesting, the speaker on the video did some work on jQuery and is currently with the team writing the Aves Engine that we were talking about on the other thread:

This engine might be worth looking at, ...although it's propitiatory.

Without watching the video (yet) I think he probably means use on the iPhone etc.

Edit: Looking at the future, HTML5 and CSS3 will be widely supported.
