That's funny, I just saw your game mentioned in the auction listing for Gangs of America on Flippa (a nice marketplace for buying and selling sites):

First, I just want to say that I know the price is high for a game making no money. With that said, I coded the game from scratch. I modeled it off of a game I used to play that I thought was really good; gangsternation.net. Originally, that game's owner was upset becasue I wrote such a nice game so similar to his, but we made amends and he realized it was in fact a different and unique game.

12 month's net is sorta the baseline. Modified if traffic is going up or down, depends a lot on how much time you have to put into it on an ongoing basis, if any special skills or resources are needed.

I'd be surprised if you got more than 4 months net honestly. BBGs tend to be trendy, and tend to have poor retention rates among the average user. A lot of the ones you see for sale were people's project for learning php, and as a result they are poorly coded. Your revenue may be consistent for a few years, but consistent is not the same as growth... and since gangster games have been the hot trend over the last year or two, I personally view 'consistent' in a growing segment as being a negative.

If you were selling clients who subscribed to a service like webhosting or something else which had barriers to leaving and/or incentives to stay, I think 6-12 months net would be realistic and probably even conservative. Hope I'm wrong for your sake, but I've valued properties in the past and this was the general line of thinking.

The obvious question is, why are you looking to sell? It sounds like you're wanting a residual income to use in funding a new endeavor. Why not just take the income from this game and use it towards that end?

At the end of the day, someone with three games online making a profit is doing better off than a person with one game online and doing the same. If you have a profitable product, what's the value to you in selling it? Is it really such a maintenance headache that you're unable to work on a concurrent project? Maybe you need to hire a game administrator to deal with player administration to free up your time. You could do this on a part-time basis at first to see if it helps you out.

If not, at least you have it every attempt to keep it before getting rid of it.
Idiocy - Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

Well, no harm in listing it for whatever you want to see if anyone bites. I think the 1 year + is extremely optimistic though considering this is a personally managed game.  For any company that doesn't see an immediate opportunity to add value, they're essentially not making money on the project for a year, while they're losing money supporting it.
