Pimp Scripts
« on: May 07, 2007, 09:13:29 PM »
Anyone knows what's up with it? There's a bunch of people claiming each other stole the others work for the game script.

It's quite hilarious actually since they just say the other's version is filled with bugs and whatnot. But it's always pretty much baseless. Anyone here know what's actually up with it? I just know that hatred seems to be the originator though.

My guess is that the bubble has finally burst open.

As I said in another post: if something is new/original it most likely will get stolen.
And if you are going to sell a game, you will maybe sell 30 or so before it becomes pirated and then everyone starts using it.
That's probably what happend in the Pimp Games scene.

Apparently it all got started when someone tried to sell pimphit.com and the original creator (hatred) found out about it.
here's the link http://apexwebgaming.com/forum/topic/1124

But I don't know anything for sure...

[?∂??] Damn I look stoopid now, don't I :) Just saw your name on this forum...didn't pay much attention when reading through.
Well at least the others know what might be going on and where to look  -_-

Doesn't really matter the code my bother in law purchased for 400 dollars was crap.. I don't care who wrote it, the coding was HORRIBLE and not meant to be placed in a production environment. I've seen better scripts on hotscripts.com (ya it was THAT bad).

Hey, I'd write bad code if it brings me $400 per sold copy!

But... I'm trying to write clean and neat code and so far I sold nothing.... Is there a connection? :)

LMAO..

Bad codes concentrated on just the "wanted result" whereas good codes have a much deeper philosophy..
But do buyers actually care about the codes? they just want a quick working game.. and most often buyers have no programming knowledge.

The community and population of online games (in all its 'species") are growing bigger and bigger and faster.. do you think selling scripts will be a good investment? or worth the hastle of making one for the purpose of selling?
But I see it as a personal satisfaction to spend time making your own game to run online.. what are your views?
It's just like an Art..

Do you really think so? To me it seems as if it's declining, a lot of games aren't nearly as popular as they were a few years ago, and most of the new games are terrible. Maybe it's just that I'm not as involved anymore though.

If they aren't popular anymore, this means there are too many nowadays and in all it's "shapes" ..lol ;)
Well, perhaps the other well versed in this field can throw some views ;)
