« on: December 04, 2007, 02:26:16 PM »
ok my question for everybody thats developing or has developed a game when you are doing that what audience do you have in consideration who are you aiming at to attract to your site? And are you even considering that ? Couse i've seen these really good games that have been created but arent very popular becuse they are to complex so are you trying to get the die hard gamers or maybe even pull in a lonley housewife who is bored?  Get back at me guys :)

Teenagers I guess.
I know some teenagers who spend a really long time playing web games.
I don't think as many adults play web games, but they should also be targeted, since they are the ones who can afford to donate or buy special accounts :)

Teenagers mostly, young adults, and some people in their early thirties that want to kill time at work ;)

My game is mostly teenagers and... families :) It's quite strange when parents/uncles/even teachers are asking kids to play the game with them. I have even seen 70-ty year old players there (but rare). The most weird demographic I ever seen and never expected. I think it's caused mostly by strict no bad language policy and good moderation of all aspects of the game (ranging from usernames, clan descriptions, chat, forum, etc). Also due to strong cheater's hunter team it is allowed to play from the same IP/machine, so many people (siblings) who would be banned on sight in other games are welcomed there. Oh yes, and people from army (don't ask why, maybe because this is the only game they can play on a shared machine?). Mostly everyone, but teenegers (while still the biggest group) are smaller than expected.

When I was designing it I didn't have any specific age on my mind, just "people who don't have much time to play, like social interaction, hate micromanagement and like making strategic choices".

I'm sure kids and teenagers are the largest groups who would spend time playing games. Adults were less but they're the one who would likely contribute money in terms of donation or subscriptions
