Villages.... again
« on: August 29, 2009, 06:33:38 PM »
Ive just been stuffing around trying to make the village creation aot easir.... instead of manually placing villages, Ill select a 100x100 square and let the script run... However Im not sure how dense I should make the placement.

So Im asking, in a game similar to tribal wars, which do you think you would prefer? (Sorry about the image sizes...)

Each of those images represents 100x100, each square is 1 coordinate.

Dont worry about the different colours, I was just having a look at abandoned villages, resources, etc.

1000 per 100x100

1500 per 100x100

2000 per 100x100

Thanks

It depends on how your game works. Maybe your game is fun with a more dense map, maybe your gma eis fun with a less dense map. Who knows?

You should have a variable which influences the density of your map, so you can change it easily. Then you should playtest different levels of density.

1. Make it so you can easily change density
2. Playtest !!!

It's pointless to ask about this here. It's an easy to change thing (one variable) so just launch the game with one of these, gather feedback from your players and change if needed.
