What text editor do you use?
« on: November 03, 2008, 02:17:18 AM »
Good day to you!

As we all know, there are many many types of text editors available for a variety of OS's.

What one do you use?

Dreamweaver? Notepad? Wordpad? Notepad++?

Personally i use Dreamweaver and Zend Studio.

I tried aptana, looks pretty useful if you're gonna use their cloud service too.

I currently use programmer's notepad, but I hate it. My favourite that I've been using for 4 years now is Textpad. :D

I use CrimsonEditor. However, it has some things I like and some things I hate. One of these days I'll code my own editor as I still haven't found one that I truly enjoy. Plus, I'd want it to be cross-platform because I can't use CrimsonEditor in 'nix environments :(

I've used Notepad++, Crimsonediter, and TextEdit,  but I've finally settled on Dreamweaver.
I'm not slacking off. My code's compiling.

Why the hate towards Programmers Notepad, Zeggy? I love it and prefer it much over Textpad, Textmate, etcetera. Simple, small resource footprint, what isn't to like?

Well, I don't really hate it, it's just not the one I like :P
It's actually sort of similar to textpad, but textpad has got some more features (which don't get in your way if you don't use them, but are really helpful if you do use them). And most importantly, it's got auto-indent :P
