Just to get everyone thinking...

Scripting Technology: PHP 5
Database Technology: mySQL 4
Type of Game: RPG
Name of Game: Battle Blades (old game of mine)
Describe Game:
You get 200 turns every 5 hours.
You spend turns and money to build buildings.
Certain buildings allow you to hire certain units.
Send units adventuring to get more gold.
Send units to kill other players.
Killing other players allows you to take their gold.

Twist:
Units that are adventuring can be bribed to attack their own buildings.

I'm not saying you have to actually build the thing...just what if you wanted to.

I dunno how much I can code in 8 hours. I've never been able to concentrate on just coding over any long periods of time (> 30 minutes) :P

I'll probably get distracted by something. The internet is so full of random stuff :)

EDIT: Oh wait, now I'm confused. The topic title says 8 hours, the message says 1 week.

Now, this is if I am able to sit still the whole time and focus on coding:

Scripting Technology: PHP 4
Database Technology: mySQL
Type of Game: Strategy
Name of Game: It doesn't matter a lot at this stage, so I'll leave this one :P
Describe Game:
A tick based strategy game, a tick every 10 minutes.
You have your own 'empire', and you need to develop it by hiring units and buying technology. More technology = more types of units available.
You attack other players and the battle results are posted at the end of each tick.
Money is gained each tick, depending on how large of an empire you have (your population) and other factors.

There are two overall sides in this game, basically, a good vs evil game. Good empires can only attack evil empires, and vice versa. There is one more side, which is for the really 'bad' empires, where everybody can attack them, and earn extra from them. Haven't thought this part out yet.

Yes, exactly. I play bushtarion, and it's an awesome game.
Although my idea for a game is a bit different. A lot of aspects are different.  :ah:

I'm a little different. I don't code very often, but when I do, it's for hours, and I get big chunks done.

I've tried making a game with a framework (the ignite framework, forgot what it's called), and it's terrible (the experience, not the framework) :P

I really don't think games and frameworks are meant to go together, unless somebody creates a framework specifically for use with games.
