Portal doesn't show me as logged in

I always access bbgamezone through the portal before entering the site. I been wondering why it has never showed me logged in or even hidden. Once I access the forum though, it will show me logged in on forum/portal

I honestly couldn't tell you as I didn't write either piece of software. The forums are SMF and the front portal is some add on for SMF that we installed. Hopefully once SMF 2.0 gets released and stable some of these pesky little nuances will go away.
