So what are the plans to grow this community and add content to the site?  Will it remain a simple phpbb forever, or will it be developed into something more?

No we have plans to grow it to anything more then it already is.

If you want to learn how to create games then check out the great articles at BuildingBrowserGames (link above). If you have a game then by all means submit it to Top-PBBG (again link above).

So, after being here a few months, I think the following features would be a nice addition:

A Blog page for each user in which they can showcase their projects
A list of source code and other such resources (tutorials, game design mantras, etc) that can be submitted by the forum users

It would also be nice if something could be done to attract volunteer artists.

I don't expect these things, but I would personally like them.  But maybe I'm the only one.

We will check to see if SMF has some type of blog plug-in.

The tutorials, lists of source and such we always felt were better suited for BuildingBrowserGames. I believe Janesera has a source code snippit archive up. The PBBG Network was going to be the hub of all these different sites run by various volunteers that provided PBBG developers with such items. We (myself and Nyx) enjoy running the forum part but we do run our own games and just don't have the time to devote.

We would love to have volunteer artists here but if you think you've been hounded by friends and family because you know computers you should see what it's like for a graphic artist on a game programming board LOL. Everyone has an idea here and everyone wants graphics for it so I don't see any enticement for a graphic artist to visit these forums.

Oh, did you mention me? It's been a while but I'm catching up on all unread posts now.

I had a project together with luke from BuildingBrowserGames called PBBG Snippets (http://pbbgsnippets.com/). He hosted it and had the domain name. Apparently he took it down. No wonder since he stopped posting to BuildingBrowserGames because he was to busy and I took a break also.

Perhaps I'll contact him and try to get some sort of code snippet site up. We'll see.

PS: Congrats to codestryker and MysterssNyx for keeping bbgamezone alive and kicking. (I'll try not to ressurect any more outdated posts)

I would also like to see a BLOG feature. I know SMF has a nice little one. I use it on my forum. Also a quick reply would be nice. :)
