A shoutbox was a good idea to start with as it makes your forums more interactive for members but when I added one to my forums it caused alot of problems

I had to close a site because the chatroom went out of hand, and then the forum went out of hand :(
However, in some games, they have a shoutbox with a nice word censor, and they don't have too many problems.

Just make sure the word censor is good enough.
