I believe that the trashcan is pointless. It makes you look like that you only want the posts, so you will never delete. Just close topics and leave them there.

If I close the topics, it will have the same result, except the topic list will look more cluttered.
In the trash can you can't reply or post a new topic, so it's just like an archive for old and/or deleted posts.

i kind of like the idea of a trashcan then you can see who posted what and get a idea of what you can and can,t post on here
