Pimp or other adult language/violent game host?
« on: December 05, 2006, 01:14:57 PM »
Godaddy I don't think would allow me to host a pimp game or a game that is more adult language/violent game. What cheap host do you think would let me have a rated R-NC17 type text game hosted? I may even allow adult images to be the players avatars.

You agree You will not be entitled to a refund of any fees paid to Go Daddy if, for any reason, Go Daddy takes corrective action with respect to Your improper or illegal use of its Services.

According to their ToS, I don't see anything that prohibits porn, except that they don't want 'vulgar' or 'obscene' activity, but I think they are referring to acts of violence or something close to violence.

I dunno, maybe you could ask godaddy just to make sure.

I did once ask if I could host a game such as pimplords dot com but they gave me a cookie cutter resonse that didn't help at all. I guess I could try again, but do you know of a host that doesn't have as scrict rules on their webmasters?

Hmm, sorry, I don't know any such host :( Most hosts usually have something against nudity in their terms :(

I don't mean nudity per sey, that game I am thinking of might just be to risky to actually run. But rather a pimp game with a lot of cursing, I wonder if a hosting company that wouldn't care about that.

If your not supporting nude images then it isn't porn, your game would be considered "Adult Themed" and you should just have a little blurb on the bottom of your front page noting that this game contains a mature subject matter and is intended for those over the age of 18....

I use the same wording on my BordelloBattles game and I've never had an issue with a host other then the host saying the will not host online games..
