Due to some unfortunate circumstances the bbgamezone.com domain was lost. We have moved the forums to a new server with a new address. During the course of moving Zeggy had decided to pass the torch to us to run the forums. Zeggy will still be an moderator and active member of the forums but the day to day maintenance and hosting will be performed by myself and MystressNyx.

We have no intention on changing anything we just want to bring this great community back together again. We will be working on getting the main jump page (http://www.bbgamezone.net) back to some semblance of usability. If you have any suggestions on what you would like to see please let us know. If you have any links on your personal blogs or sites that point to the .com address please update them with the new .net url

Great to have you back,
codestryke & MystressNyx

Wow, and it couldn't have been squatted by a more obnoxious scoundrel. In any event, thanks for bringing the site back online, codestryke. Let us know if you need any help.

Hard to say as I really don't know the full happenings. The BBG domain one day went to an unregistered state, then after a couple days of that it went to a ad farm. I contacted Zeggy we made arrangements with him on getting a copy of the database, we registered the .net domain, installed SMF on our server and restored the database. That's about all that I know.

Isn't it just a page of the domain registrator?
There's "This domain name expired on Apr 05, 2009 Click here to renew it." But I don't know if the link points to a valid renewal page.
I thought there's a period when the domain expired but only the owner can renew it and not anyone else. For .cz it's 45 days, so it should be much
more than couple of days, a month I guess.

Zeggy, what registrar you used to buy the .com domain? There should be at least 20 days to buyback the domain after expiration (for around $30 I think).

Unfortunately, Zeggy no longer has access to the e-mail used to register the .com, hence why it expired to begin with. We do have a back order on it, but so do several other people so there's no assurance we'll end up with it. If we do get it, we fully intend to move back to the .com to preserve all the backlinks the community has generated. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

I seriously considered putting a hold on it myself so it may well be that whomever gets it was just trying to safeguard it to keep it from going to a squatter. That was my only motivation.

That's our hope as well. I don't really think anyone here would try to grab it with malicious intent.

Glad this is back-up! I had deleted the bookmark yesterday but thought I would try and see if I could get to it from http://buildingbrowsergames.com/ and it worked!

Hadn't bothered with the main page yet, since it wasn't complete. It's there now.
