Anyone have any idea what's going on now? it leads to bbgamezone.com this just started happening today if i remember right.

Is someone just doing some random BS SEO spamming their own site? B/c i've never seen this thing before yet, it's now the first result for this site.

.com is always stronger than .net, althrough it should not be as much stronger as to override everything else....

Zeggy, change your link at http://code.google.com/p/ezrpg/ please.

http://phpgame.net/ links to http://ezrpg.bbgamezone.com/wiki/download (again, Zeggy, only you can fix that one)

http://www.crimsongames200.com/index.php?a=page&id=rules (our forum admin should contact them to fix the link)

http://blog.bbguniverse.com/ "Second we now have an important partner. With BBGameZone and buildingbrowsergames we have created the PBBG Network. The aim is to provide the best content we can, every site in it’s field." (this one contain old link)

I think these are the most dangerous ones.

Wait so why is .com more powerful than .net? O_o i always just figured that google when it was ranking things didn't take into account the extension of the site. Since .com is computer, .net is network, .org is organization.

And wait... it just said that the site changed from .com to .net and that it was on the 31st of december. I didn't really bother looking up the url of the site back when i first came upon here in... whenever it was. But what happened exactly to cause it to go down?

As a quick correction, .com is actually for commercial which is why it is so well recognized by the public consciousness: marketing.

*edit - Oops. Aquilax beat me to it! lol

com is comfortable

Always get it. I started putting personal stuff on a .org 11 years ago and my family still often tries to use .com instead.

At least for USA/eng. ...for other countries it's often better to use national TLD, most people are used to it...at least around here

I don't think TLD is the issue, but anyway, it looks more like a MFA or something...too bad

Heh, the programming reference was too cute to pass up. I used to just dump code on it, it was my "all the geeky stuff my family complains about on my personal site". I did not realize beforehand that running a blog there would make it my primary home online.

Thanks for bringing it to our attention 133794m3r and thank you for the improper links, Chris.

I'll contact Crimson, but the links really aren't the issue. This is evidenced by the fact that it "magically" jumped to the top over night. The .com is being held by answerable.com and it seems they've finally decided to do a major push on it in preparation of releasing it (most likely to the highest bidder).

We'll keep out eyes on it and hopefully be able to snag it, but there's simply no way that we'll ever have the resources to combat what a full marketing team can do, as is the case this time.
