Hey I'm Jordan
« on: June 24, 2011, 02:57:21 AM »
Hey,

My name is Jordan and I've been reading through these forums for a month or two, but just decided to join. It doesn't look like it's very active here any more, but at least now I can reply to posts if I want to!

Hi Jordan, welcome to the forum.
Currently working on an HTML5 canvas 2.5D landscape renderer and a PBBG that uses it (http://fleetingfantasy.com/). The development blog's at http://fleetingfantasy.wordpress.com/.

Yeah, I am working on something called "Browser Game Builder" that is a site that lets non-programmers that want to have their own text-based browser RPG sign up to create a game and use the admin panel to add items, NPCs, jobs/quests/crimes/etc, and change other settings to customize a game to their own theme or storyline. I haven't actually made a browser game before so programming a browser game builder has been a challenge, but so far I think it's going well. I have a lot of work left to do on it.

That's really cool! I think an ad for your site came up when I viewed this page?
I'm working on something very similar, a browser based game builder called PointClickPress, also my first browser based game. I've been working on it since Jan 2010, but your site looks a lot better than mine :P

It looks like you have a different type of game maker then what mine is about. Yours is more graphical, but mine is more based on the player progressing their character. I have only been working on mine for a couple months.

Hey Jordan, you want your game builder adding to the game list? http://fleetingfantasy.com/game-list

I can add it this evening if you let me know what you want to appear.

True true they are of course different. I just got excited that someone else was working on a game maker rather than just a game :)
