Wanted: Someone to go back in time with me...
« on: February 05, 2012, 05:51:03 PM »
Heya Guys,

After a month or two wandering around, reading some topics and trying some games out you have posted in the advertisements section - please, remind me to revisit that place again and properly look at some of the games posted there -, I actually wanted to register here. Not for the scripts, or the mighty skills they call game designing, not even for the extremely interesting - but rather cryptic-sounding - programming languages, but for the fun and the people.

Frankly, that sounds like I have no friends outside the world wide web. You know, I can deny that, but it wouldn't make any rhetorical sense. Anyway, my name is Chris, and thanks to the other Chris here, you know my last name too (which is Palmer, for the visually-impaired) and I am a twenty-two year old Biology student. Now you think, what does a Biology student have to do in a place like this, right? Well, I haven't got a clue either. To make things even worse, I have actually no computeristic developmental game designing skills, nor the courage to tackle the enormous road to the book store to find me a copy of "How to Develop a Browser-Based Game for Dummies" (which is around the corner). No, although I haven't got the magical prowess everybody is talking about here, I do have a certain sense of literacy and fantastic brain electric wave thingies to make up the most wonderful stories ever. Yep, I am a writer.

Or rather a mental plot developer, as I never took the time to actually write down things I thought of. But, that is for later. I now know - and you too - that I am a lazy literate student with no friends interested in how bacteria have intercourse and why we all were fish some day in the past. For the most part of my residency here, I will be that particular person, aiding with whatever I can and criticize everything that I can read, but only if you need any. You can see me as Siri - the new female thingy on the iPhone 4 who answers the question What's the meaning of life with "All evidence to date suggests it is chocolate" -, or maybe even better, as the stranger at the other end of the conversation on this site: I will talk a lot - that is what writers do - and it's actually about nothing. But hey, that's what I am here for: a good, interesting, small opinion, covered in layers of pure and random randomness. I will randomly give my sincere thoughts about subjects, enjoy the company of you all and discuss the latest trends in gaming land.

Yup. That's me. If you want to know more, just ask. I'll answer everything - I guess.

P.S. The subject of this topic is totally not serious. See for further reference here: Funny newspaper ads

Hey Palmer
A while ago I was trying to design a video game about bacteria that battle bacteriophages and trade plasmids, but then realized I should've been a bio student first. Welcome to the forums!

Thanks for the warm welcome! If you still need some help with that, I'll happily give you some bacterial insides :P
