Hello to everyonw, I am back in this forum after a while, I am glad is still existing

They print an arrow where the player needs to click to complete a step... do they use a flash script? do anyone know about tutorial tools that make simple to do them?

at the end.. you will throw away you new code, which you made with framework cause the Framework has a new version and it works completly different
my game is written i kohana 2.x, i discovered later some important 'faults' in the framework but rewriting the game in kohana 3.x is out of question as it would mean to rewrite the game completely.
HOWEVER, i will choose again a framework to write a game because once learned, you code faster.
Kohana 3.x is lighter, CakePHP is more complete. Write your game from the beginning to make use of a cache (memcached) for example.

I don't want to go off-topic and if its the case please admin, split this post. My game gets new members only from topsites and google and i have about 900-1000 active players; i am earning on average 35$/day.
What's the best circuit where one can advertise his game? i tried google adsense but it seems a bit complicated to find the right keywords...

Ok, let's imagine i want to have something like this:
1) I need to create the structure of a city and cache it/serialize it somewhere. If something changes (i.e. building added or removed), I will invalidate the cache and rebuild the city structure/reserialize it
2) On load, get the serialized city, parse it, send a json request to a framework (example JSCrafty) and render it.

Question: but when i serialize the city in a BLOB, cant I serialize also the AREA information, so when a user will hover/click on the area map i will show the related-building functions?

Maybe i explained myself not correctly; Ok for the webmasters, but i was considering players, that can invite friends (paying friends) or make advertising (posting in forums with the link) and thus get real money for their referral.

Hi, i saw that some games gives the opportunity to some webmasters to subscribe to an affiliation program.
The webmaster then could get a % of the money for the 'leads' they provide and that are paying.
1) Is there already a company that offer this service so i can integrate my game with its services, or i have

- If he must be contacted ingame or via forum, you need to register a user, in this case the cost to contact the owner is higher.
@Chris: Forcing the registration a game in a toplist can be ok in order to show a non empty toplist. However the most important thing for a toplist is that the registered games are voting. thus bringing traffic to the toplist.

According to what I read so far the industry standard is:
- ARPU - always monthly income and MAU (so it is used as ARPMAU), it's because this term was coined in telecomunication industry and they used it as monthly
- ARPDAU/ARPDU - daily income per DAU so the "ARPDAU - monthly income/DAU" would be wrong, should be "ARPDAU - monthly income/30.5/DAU".
"Total Registered Users" - is a completely useless metric, in Lords I have 180000 because it is an old game. But it means nothing... Also, some games delete inactive users after some period, this changes this and several other metrics heavily. Check the retention rate topic, some games have simply no data of inactives after 45 days.
I would like to keep it. It tells me if my toplists/adv choice are ok. (I check the delta of registered each month).
"% of paying users" - again problematic, at the beginning my Lords were without any payment options, so I would have this number artifically low. Also, if you allow players to transfer funds to others you might be unable to track who paid and who donated (and should we tread those who made others to pay for them count as donators or not?)
Looking around, it seems a valuable statistics. Maybe it should be calculated for each month. I agree it should be defined better.
Read about "conversion rate", it could be a nice one to add.
"New Registered users" - rename to "New Registered users (monthly)" because it is not obvious at the first glance.
