I could help you, I'm not an expert  at php and I don't know how complex the script should be. Can you tell me if it's complicated or not ?

The game would be a very compited game as thew more compitced we put the code in then the more people will play as its unquie. I have playied many games and i found them plain and boring im going to spice this game up with loads of secutiy features and make the code really hard to understand if a newbie was going to copy the code.

The reason why im doing this is because ive seen and i have helped people get thier php codes back , it wasnt easy and i wish to protect the code with asmuch as i can load into each file.

You may help still but the codes that you make will be advanced by me or my other devloper as stated above

Hope i didnt scare you away  :)

Hate to burst your bubble but "protecting" php code has NOTHING to do with the php code but the Apache or IIS server you are running the PHP code under. Unless you know how to configure either Apache or IIS properly your code will be on hotscripts.com in a matter of minutes of you releasing it, no matter how much obfuscate the PHP code itself.

The other thing, yes, you've said you played a lot of game but how does that qualify you as a game designer? Knowing how to play them, saying "ya I would change this or that" does not make you a game designer. Designing a game takes a whole different skill set then coding them, modifying them, thinking of them or playing them. A game idea is nothing (everyone that has played a game has an idea) without a deep understanding of mechanics, economics and resource development. Do you have the game laid out on paper, do you have a decision tree, do you have the basic modules outlined that will need to be coded? If you don't then you are wasting your own time and the time of others trying to sell nothing more then an "idea".

I don't mean to sound harsh but there is more to designing, coding and running a game then most people think. 99.9% of them fail and they do because they don't have a clue just a sorta idea about a game.

Is this game gonna be a game developed for game owners so other people can download it and run it, or is it just gonna be a game you will setup on your server?

If it's not gonna be up for download, then there's not much point in obfuscating or encrypting it, since the code's server-side anyways.

If you're still interested, the obfuscator I used for PHP is here:
http://tool-galaxy.remiya.com/html/0.html

Contains some useful tools.

You are lucky to consider yourself a game designer if you have 1 years' experience.

I have been designing games for about 8 years now (designed and coded them by myself or in a small team until two years ago), and still do not consider myself to be a game designer.
Some of my games have had xx,xxx users in less than 10 months of running, but still, I continue being scared when starting a new project.

So, again, if you are truly a game designer, you are lucky.

EXACTLY!
It's been 7 years for me on the web alone not counting door games written on the C64 or the c/c++ stand alone games I've written and sold on Compuserve.

----------------------------------------------------

And finally KingMonkey you are not a designer, nor even a decent coder, you are a cheap hack! The URL's posted above I went to and I know for a fact you didn't write those games. You may of fixed them, you may of tweaked them, you may of built add-ons for them but certainly didn't write those from ground up. I'm speaking of the games, site search you may have but it barely works so I wouldn't be bragging about it.

You have a bunch of scripts downloaded off places like hotscripts.com, half ass configured so none of them really work and it's basically a total mess. Now you are posting about Lazzy and actually charging for Ultimate Warrior?!?! Are you kidding me Ultimate Warrior is nothing more then the ExoFusion script that's been renamed and you didn't even go though and get all the occurance of ExoFusion out of the html! I'll even bet that most of your modifications or "add ons" to the exofusion code can be found on sourceforge as submitted patches and updates that never made it into the release branch of the code.

Zeggy should really start thinking about your moderator status... As a moderator you are somewhat looked up to on these forums and I think it's in really bad taste that you are selling an open source script and claiming it as your own. Does a huge dishonor to those that are coming here to learn how to create online games and don't know any better.

Couldn't have said it better Codestryke.  This person has just got under my skin since day one here as you can see from my posts to him.  Also, what was the need to change names all of a sudden, we all still knew it was that same guy hi_118.  He seems to try and bait people by saying how good he is, sorry but I haven't seen it.  All the stuff I've seen is crap.

Yes we are keeping it free, however we are adding more features to make them better for you guys.

According to that it in no way suggests iam selling The Ultimate Warrior On its own. I may be including it Free as a later development in each package. All packages include the ul;timate warrior for free and you are only paying for the addons. You may be wandering why the prices are high.. Well lets just say as a coder i work like this. I dont have any supporting job which i can do if i get out of money. I make my money by coding my own games. I did work as part of a team on the London mafia yet the design was my idea and i have never seen something like that before. The code was built from ground upwards. And No body should be saying im not a coder. yes i have lack of experience yet what you dont know is try learning php from somebody who insits that you get everything right. well thats what happened to me.. 3 months of my life wasted by learning to code from a no body! yet im really good at it and i would thank my 'teacher' however he put me through hell and back.

When i learnt PHP i was getting it in the neck to successed and i did. Maybe you coded easyer things yet my 'teacher'  knew me and knew i could do the course within a year.

My layouts may not be great yet i admit that but my codes are good. If you wish to complain to me you will be put on Lazy! Blacklist.

Alright everybody, let's keep it friendly here, no threats. KingMonkey, you're acting a little arrogant with your last post there.

Back on topic:
I think that the term 'game designer' is different in everybody's view. In my opinion, everybody who is involved somewhat in game development can be considered a 'game designer'. After all, what do they really do? They're just the people behind ideas. Everybody has ideas all the time. It's no big deal. Just because you consider yourself a game designer doesn't say a thing about how successful or fun your games are/will be.
