Cleaned up and open-sourced my mostly-built game, Chrysellia
« on: October 05, 2011, 12:06:29 PM »
How are you gentlemen!

My friend Drew and I built this a while ago, as a potential successor to my other game, Neflaria, which has been around for about 10 years with virtually no updates. We ended up having a bunch of ideas that caused us to spin off into another direction (rather than finishing it), but we've onlined it and open-sourced it all the same.

It could easily be used to power a variety of online RPG-type games, if you'd like to do that kind of thing, by simply adding new maps, monsters, item types, and the like; there's little documentation (it was just the two of us working on this thing for a couple months), but I'd be happy to answer any questions, and perhaps eventually make some documentation.

So anyway, here it is: www.chrysellia.com (if DNS hasn't updated, try www.chrysellia.net or www.neflaria.com/chrysellia)

Looks nice.

Not yet had a look at the code... but will get to it eventually.

Many thanks for open-sourcing your game ajacksified. Very kind. More source code to look at is always a good thing, and let's face it, there isn't a whole lot of BBG source code floating around.
Currently working on an HTML5 canvas 2.5D landscape renderer and a PBBG that uses it (http://fleetingfantasy.com/). The development blog's at http://fleetingfantasy.wordpress.com/.
What are BBGameZone members working on? See the game list.
