A good ad company?
« on: October 06, 2008, 12:34:03 PM »
I recently did a trial run for my game, in the 8 hours before I took it down, I got 280 players, over 100,000 page views 20 clicks and $2 from AdSense (1 image ad). With my math I expect I can make about $8 a day from AdSense Ads.

Now, is there a way I can get more? Maybe a better ad company? Because my server costs are like $200 a month for the cheapest I can get.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

If your game is really so popular, you would probably earn the most with a custom solution, ie. selling ads directly to advertisers. Or find some way to monetize your players.

I don't think you should use google adsense. I would try that what zeggy said. It's b.t.w. always better to have direct contact with you're advertisers, so you get ALL the money. But IF you're sticking to something like google adsense, look for something else. Like that thing from yahoo!, you get more money from one of their ads than you get from adsense.

I would think that text-ads don't wordk so well in a bbgame.

I work for a media company so I can say, with absolute authority, that direct ad sales are king if you have high traffic and contacts with related industries.
Idiocy - Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.
