Google seems to be my best money maker compared to globalinteractive, cj.com affliates program, and adbrite, my flash arcade website wasn't accepted into yahoo yet since there is too many of them.

I'm suprised to hear Google Adsense being one of the better performers for game type sites - I would have thought that CPM programmes would have performed better?

Does anyone here use CPM?  If so, have you found it performs well or do you tend to get a lot of default / unpaid views?

Yeah, I think CPM would be better for game sites too.
I use CPM, and it's pretty nice.
I haven't got an active game at the moment so I can't say I'm earning much :P

But even for just a few views, I am earning a couple cents :)
I haven't seen any default ads myself yet.

CPA programs are also really good for games as well! You could earn so much if you chose the right cpa network...
You could have a special page where you list all the offers that your members can take part in. Then, if your network supports it, after they complete the offer you can automatically credit their account with extra cash or levels or whatever.
Since CPA pays quite a lot, I think you can make quite a nice bundle off it :)
The users will be motivated to complete them too, because they get an in-game reward.

The only cpm program I used so far was globalinteractive and they only paid me .09-.18 per thousand views, currenlty with google I am getting around .75-.90 per thousand views. I tried CJ.com and still have a few CPA ads cycling. Most of the CPA's ads say you cannot post incentives on your site for clicks or signups, I am sure that goes for all the actions that will pay.

The main problem with my flash arcade site is lack of players, I only have 350 people on a day, but I really haven't started a big promotion yet, I am waiting to finish up 2 of the php games me and a couple of friends are working on. Then we will rollout a huge promotion for all 3 sites and when we get enough pageviews, sign up to the big CPM advertisers that I heard pay $1 per thousand views.

Well, it also depends on what kinds of ads you are running.
Pop-unders and pop-ups pay quite a lot, maybe $6 CPM, but banners may only get you between 50 cents and 2 dollars.
And that's for well-paying networks.
I am using ValueClick media for my CPM ads, and they pay quite well. Every visitor counts, and every visitor is paid for, at least once cent :)
But it's only unique visitors, so if you have lots of return visitors, like most games do, you will be earning roughly the same every day.
And not all players come back.

Running text ads of any sort on a gaming site is not going to make you rich.  Best I ever did was $373 using google over a 3 month period.  If you subtract hosting costs and time spent doing support, bug fixes, player support, site promotion, you would find, you lose.

Your right, it's not going to make you bags of money. But some sites/corps do. Whether they use AdSense, I'm not sure.

If you have a site with a good amount of pageviews then you might be able to sell ad space.  Google is ok, do get me wrong.  Its nice to have when it comes time to pay the hosting bill :)

I recently read that google scans what all your clicks were before they pay you and then if they see anything they deem suspicious (repeat clickers) they delete you and you don't get paid..

Well, I was cheating my ads.
So, should I just save time and delete my google account and make a new one? =/

I dunno. If you haven't been caught yet, then I guess you should stop clicking immediately. How often have you been doing it?
If it's just once a week or something, you could email google, apologize and say you accidentally clicked on your own ads a few times, and ask them to remove the credit for those clicks.

If it were me, I wouldn't say anything and wait to see what happens.  If you were clicking your own ads hundreds of times, well... :)

If it was only a few times then I doubt that they will say much if anything.

Well, I was clicking about three, once every other day (roughly) for a semester.
See the issue is, I'm up to 10 dollars now and I'd have to wait till I hit $100, that'll be a lot of time down the drain.

I think your fine, just stop clicking your own ads or they will remove you.

My arcade site had some banner exchange programs going and google adsense as my revenue. When my google was about 3$ they sent me a warning email saying there was a lot of "invaild clicks coming in"- when I asked them what it meant and how to stop this from happening all I got was - you have invaild clicks coming in and if it continues they will delete my account. I got no help from them, seems they would rather delete me than help me and fix the problem and provide countless more ads for them! Anyway I found out that some chinese people are going to all the flash arcade sites in the banner exchange program and clicking the google ads over an over so I removed google adsense and the banner exchange programs too. If they didn't send you a warning message or ban you already you should be fine.

I think I'll just make apply geotargetting, and disable chinese surfers from some of my games - I got that google warning too, and not using AdSense is making me lose a lot of money.
