Promotion guidelines
« on: March 03, 2010, 09:20:47 AM »
Hi,

Could you share your personnal browsergame promotion method here ?

I'm new on the English market and rather lost so it will mainly be useful for me but it will surely be a great help for everyone, especially new browsergame creators.

The idea would to indicate which techniques you use but also which sites are the most effective and which sites to avoid. In France for example, banner exchanges are a source of quality traffic and are rather appreciated (this seems contrary to the English market from what i've read so far). The best of all French banner exchange sites is Banizi.com.

Thanks,

Neuronix

What performance you got from this Banizi.com?

When I was using english speaking banner networks I was getting (at most) 20-25 new players a week. And this was when my banner was shown on like 30-50% slots worldwide...
Also there were problems with delivering sufficient slots (on some rarer banner formats I just was getting unused credits since the system was unable to find enough matching slots, the situation was ridiculous, my site was displaying all the banners from all worldwide sites while all the other websites were displaying almost only my banners (especially 125x125 format)).

Well now our game has more or less saturated the network so the "new game" effect has disapeared.

I've tried Gamesbannernet.com which looks like the only english banner exchange site worth something.... but it's a real disappointment. A few tens of clicks but the conversion rate is about 0.0 :(

The stats i first got with Banizi were deleted so i can't give you much details but it provided about 20-30 registrations per day at the beginning.

Concerning the slots, in France we mainly use the 468x60 format, especially in banner exchanges. Most of them only use 468x60.

I also found Schizoclick rather good :).

I don't think such volume would be possible on English targetted banner exchanges. No clue why...

I use for promotion: toplists, search engines, advert networks.

Among advert networks these two seems fine: advertiseyourgame, game-advertising-online. Also you could try projectwonderful, you can fish there really cheap offers.
