Hello anyone knows if there is a free tool (or commercial ones) for drawing maps?

I mean images to show in the game to player if he's lost in an area.

Some people use Terragen to create terrains, then use like Photoshop to add stuff to it.

When a player is exploring areas, I would like to give them the possibility to
view an image/map of the area where he/she is.

I went to see terragen but i need a 2d map...

I dont know of any unfortunately :S best bet's to make one yourself.
