Would you play this?

The game is pretty much a cock fight simulator. You rooster fights another rooster and you bet on which rooster you think will win. After each fight, whoever wins gets so much corn. You feed the corn to your rooster to make it bigger and thus more powerful.

my only comment would be ...is it a simulator or just an alternative setting for a PvP game?

i dont know too many cock breeders that would enter if all they won was some corn, even if it was magic corn that somehow managed to make their rooster get even bigger. If your looking to emphasis the simulation part then, you could have them entering various competitions, winning prize money, using that money to buy new chickens, pay vet bills, entry fees and transport costs..... buy stud chickens for raising better ones .... ie actually simulate the exciting life of a  fighter cock breeder.

But as a plain PvP game with cartoony graphics it would probably be a good bit of fun.  SQWARK !!!

I would rather keep it simple. But use a currency AND corn. So you can win some money and/or corn, and can use the money to bet or buy corn.
OR, I'm thinking, you could set some alternative goals. Like:
 - The strongest rooster.
 - The fattest rooster.
 - The player with the most corn (so make it so that corn is hard to get and you have to use it to feed your rooster to)
 - The rooster who won the most games
 - etc.
I mean, don't use to many goals, but keep it simple while giving enough challenges for the players. That's what will make a good game I think  :), but you can do it totally different if you want  ;). Just what you think would be a fun game.

The idea originally started out as simulator, but I think that it will probably end up just being a PvP game with some RPG elements, kinda like the mafia influenced games out there.
Here's a list of some of the ideas I'm come up with for it:
  • Winner of fights gets money(like most PvP games)
  • Instead of earning XP to level up, roosters eat corn
  • Instead of levels, the roosters increase in size
  • Possible betting on fights.
I would have entered this for the contest, but I have tons of work to do for school and so the earliest I could possibly work on it would be either mid December to early January.

I think it should be that the fighters don't bet on their own game. So that they are scheduled. But maybe make sure that you don't have the choise ot bet on hundreds of games :S. Make sure there is a limit.

Wow. I totally forgot about it. I started some work on it back in October but forgot about it because of school work and then I started working on another game. But that other game can be put on hold 'cause I have no idea what to do with it, so I'm going to start working on it again.

So I've created a Wetpaint community site for this game. Anyone that wants to help out with this game can join and we can get started on it.
Also, anyone with questions can PM either here on on the wetpaint site.

Well, because of school I can't do this project right now, so I'm ending it for now. If anyone wants to talk about getting it back up can PM me.
