making an iGoogle Gadget for your game
« on: July 26, 2008, 11:27:39 AM »
If you?ve ever personalized a Google home page, you?ve seen the various gadgets that can be added. These gadgets can also be placed into other web pages, blogs, and so forth pretty easily, and they share a very similar framework with ?gadgets? in other sites, such as MySpace?s new MySpace Apps. I recently wrote an article that shows you how to make a simple gadget that pulls dynamic data from your game and displays it in a nice little box.

Very nice article :)

Since I'm lazy and don't want to do the research myself could you do another one with player name / password so you can show actual "sensitive" account data :)

Swank gadget Ranger! I keep thinking about technologies like Facebook Apps, and identity authentication schemes like OpenID, and wondering what will emerge from it all that will change the way we small game developers build our games. I guess with the way it's moving now, we'll find out soon :D
