A good site to help you out

A few months ago I posted on here asking for a poker script, I got told I should make it myself or at least tempt it, I thought whats the point when I know I wouldn't be able to..

I asked a friend for a good website to help me and he gave me one, I spent like 2-3 days looking and learning from the website and now I've almost finished it after 2 weeks working on the same script, still got a few little bits I'm stuck with but I'm gonna get around those problems soon enough.

Its a great website and if your new to coding or just a little stuck take a look I'm sure it'll have the solution to your problem or a way around it.

I agree. w3schools was my first stop when I started learning (x)HTML and CSS. It was also the start of my education on server-side and client-side scripting languages. I still use it for the CSS and (x)HTML reference pages

I started at www.tizag.com. Its written so people without any coding background can understand the concepts.

I never went to tizag... I should probably see what kind of tuts and such they have for when I recommend sites to beginners. I will state that I DID have the advantage of coming in knowing other programming concepts so I suppose that probably eased the transition.

I didn't. W3 schools still was a really good place to start ^^. But offcourse tizag is also very good for beginners. Do they have examples like in W3 schools?

I used Tizag when I first began to learn PHP. The tuts are straight forward and easy to understand by example. It's also ordered nicely so you can find what your looking for quite easily.

I think tizag and w3schools are about the same. I have used both . One good thing about w3schools is in the html and javascript tutorials you can test it  on there site. Another good thing about w3schools is the quizzes it has on it. You can study the basics and than test what you have learned in a small 20 question quiz.

Nothing beats the manual so RTM!

I actually don't like w3 much. They skimp on covering a lot of things in CSS (and other things), but for a new person it's definitely a good place to start.

i agree i started out at w3schools when i was learning html, xhtml, css, etc. I am still learning php on it but i think it is good place for absolute starters and not for the advanced stuff. Cause when i read it i feel that it has just touched the surface of the subject and odes not dive deep into it.

www.w3schools.com got me started into HTML, CSS, PHP and MySQL, very good for beginners.

I also want to recommand w3Schools for Beginner.
even it can't cover the whole subject, it can give many concept to us.
I haven't started my web journey from w3Schools and I juz read from Books but I knew that if I have found w3Schools at that time, I can learn much more.

after learning from w3Schools, you better grab some ebooks or read many articles that contain tips & tricks.
w3Schools can't cover tips & tricks, you need to learn that from other several sources.
