Without a Battle system in a game, you might aswell close the game down.

Haha, what are you talking about? There are plenty of ways to make a game with out battle system!

@toxin

You're right: conflict interaction with the game world and players probably needs to be on a list. But it's pretty vague the way you describe it now. It has a air of game design, between all the concrete stuff on the list.

I'd also like to see a combined project, but some one really just needs to take the lead. You seem ready for it...

Just put op a community website (wiki, ... ) and try to figure out the concrete stuff. I suggest some sort of form, but there's plenty of ideas on this topic to use. Preparing the project is important now, after that you can discuss every little detail until we all go nuts ;).

I hope you do it, otherwise I hope some one else does it. I know I'm not going to do it, and I know that if nobody's going to take the lead nothing will happen. Though there's plenty of people willing to contribute.

Honestly we may as well setup a soureforge project for this. Whoever leads would just need to initialize the project page with Trac SVN, MediaWiki, and PHPBB activated. Then we  need to create the design doc for the whole idea to have a central source. Leadership won't really be needed after except maybe for making sure the project is being done right.
