crons?

how exactly do crons work?
was muckin around with a few scripts, cant seem to get turns to accumulate, this is a crons issue yeh?

Yeah, it's either a cron issue or a problem with your cron file.

You should first try running the cron file from your browser to make sure there are no errors.

Also in the command to run you will need to put...

lynx - dump http://your domain/folder of the cron file/your cron file.php

Example - lynx - dump http://midnightpimping.com/cron_jobs/turns.php

This works for me but your webhosting company may be able to explain in more detail if this does not work  ;)

There are lots of other free hosts though, that can support cron.

The cron I entered is just an example lol. As there is no php file at that location you will see that 404 error lmao.

yer pug - got it bud.
ur code was apache. but i didnt have anything wrong with what i was doin - just host i was usin don't support crons.
2 choices i spoze - run em on another server, or on my own pc.
external sounds good to me. more chance of uptime.
don't really matter -
1. files can stay put
2. i learnt something new  ;)

You will need to make maybe 10 posts on the forum though. but from there on you don't need to do anything.

A lot of these free hosts that offer CPanel and everything along with it require some forum posting. A lot of free hosts advertise on this forum, so if you don't want to try EJ.am, then you can look through here:
