Heh, I saw somebody add a stockmarket to their exofusion game. It looked pretty cool. I think there are some pure stockmarket simulation games on the web though... I tried playing it, but the game is too complicated for me to understand :P

How about a humorous more adult pimp game? Where you can say what you want, have whatever picture as your avatar. It would have to be sponsored entirely by the players since you won't find any advertisers except maybe the shady businesses. In my high school years I made a humorous pimp game for the ti-83+ graphic calculator, everyone loved it. A few people from high school met up with me and got me thinking it would be fun to have this game made into a php game with a lot more features and freedom for the 18+ crowd. The only problem would be to find a good hosting company that would allow this.

had another game idea

its also posted under - game owners, projects, new project thread. I posted it there to ask about the thread but I thought this would a good idea to repost the idea here under "game ideas"

A Multiplayer Battle Arena Type game - have it where every player battles each other, but you could also fight against monsters to train if you so wish. Have rankings based on win %, battles, etc. Each player has a type of battle skill (Melee, Range, Magic, etc) The skills are additive to your total attack, defense. EX: Magic type player buys a sword - Strength of the sword 2, since he is magic type he only gets 1 strength, but if he buys a staff then he gets 3 strenght from a 2 strength weapon. Every class type has advantages and disadvantages, (Magic Strong Attack weak def, Ranger balanced, Warrior - strong defense, strong offense but when fighting a range class low stats)
Could possibly play better if you didn't have levels but instead buy certain skills so every player is almost different and you never know what you will be fighting when challenging player.

Is it in the script vault? I would like to know how it works, stock market sims are fun.

About the multiplayer battle arena, do you mean something like romanarena ?

If I told you my game idea, I would have to kill you.   :mib:

Well, when my game is done, you can all see, and hopefully think it is at least mediocre.   --)

My very slowly developing project is described here. Please note that the documentation is not completely updated, so there may be inconsistencies here and there. You'll get the general idea

Nice, it looks like a very ambitious project :D
It kind of looks like it will just be a huge extension of e107 though... Will it be that, or will you just take a stable version of e107 and completely turn it around?

Right now it's an extension of e107, which can be argued is not a smart choice. The decision is mostly related to my own laziness. I get user admin, forums, security stuff and more without crunching much code. In theory, this means I can focus on the game instead. Hopefully, the core code for the game will not be too hard to port to something else, or make a standalone game out of it

And yes, it's very ambitious, maybe too large in scope, but if I can get a basic Beta version out in which units can be ordered to some moving and fighting on a map and turns can be resolved, I think it's rather simple to add functionality in smaller increments

I disagree. Yes, the basic genres are pretty well defined but there is always room for new twists/takes on the old themes. Just because everyone compares one idea to something already in existence doesn't mean it will be the same.

Hehe, just today I had some very interesting ideas how to pep up the old rpg-genre :D
My guess is that there are always new things which someone includes in a new game. But then people start playing the game and see the new feature and implement it in their own games. So most new features get "used up" pretty quick  by the game community.

One button game - after your login you have only one button you can click. After you click something would happen. There would be battles, quests, treasures, NPCs, etc.

I like the perverse game concept of life as a gold farmer, probably for WoW. You would play a destitute gold farmer working in an Asian sweat shop, grinding for the underbosses in a seedy cubicle farm in some provincial midtown. Using an abstracted oversimplification of MMORPG rules in typical PBBG fashion, you run instances and kill a billion hydra lions or whatever to make bank. You would also have to cope not only with office politics and agency rivalries (other players), but Korean syndicates, angry game admins, hateful occidental gamers, breaking patches that ruin your treasure, griefers, and sudden, government regulations! And hacking?

Do you think you could get anyone to play that game? People are devising some pretty ridiculous settings these days.

Sounds interesting. As long as it does not focus on the "killing hydras" part it might be worth playing.

Heres a new idea, with all the pimp and thug games out.what about making a bootleg dealing game.

lvl up by selling dvds ,selling music ,battle other boot Legers,   lvl up by selling gin,run...run from cops, get busted
fight rappers,or other artist.

Become the top boot Leger in your city, town, world what ever.

EXP=  ID:rowbvp sold 5 bootleg dvds  to some dope head.gained - x amount and exp-x  gained 10 dollars,gold.... :D
