First does the free host support mySQL?  A lot of them don't.

PM sent, not sure if you have edited the config.php file to suit your server needs. I have gave a slight explanation in the PM of what to change.

This could be the problem as the game has no way of communicating with the DB without this information.

Hope it works. 1 Karma point for me if it does ;) lol

Are there any actual errors that show up? It helps if they can be posted :)

From what I can figure out mate is that the config file is setup correctly. The reason I am saying this as the register page is showing 0 Regsitered Members, I changed the config file and it then showed Registered Members which tells me it stopped reading the DB.

As it is hosted on a free server and is very limited there's not much else I can check. I tried to setup a new database but it would not let me. I also noticed you cannot create a user and pass for the database.

I am not sure what to try from here. You are very limited with the hosting and it may be worth purchasing a cheap hosting. That way you won't be so limited and can always use it for testing other game scripts out on.

yer - thanx man, is probly somethin real simple like permissions or so.

& that host only gives u 1 db & as far as i know, can't change the name & pass.

don't really wanna spend cash on a server while i still got no idea what i am doing!

if any1 knows of a free subdomain host with php/mysql (that works) plz tell!

have tried quite a few on freewebs, like athost, 150m, orgfree & biz.tc.

try www.ej.am
They give you a free subdomain (xxx.ej.am) and nice hosting.

We got it setup earlier and it connects to the db fine.  I'm not sure how the script will run though, its pretty old and needs to be updated.
