A text editor?  Notepad would work, though I suggest Crimson Editor.

Just save the file as "filename.html" and open with your favorite browser.

Not sure what question are you really asking, maybe you need to take a look at some very basic tutorial about website creating.

If it's really just interest in various editors, then for me it's Netbeans

I think this guy needs to read some HTML tut's, I don't think he even knows what HTML stands for.

If it's meant another way, count me in for Netbeans, though I like to use Zend at times.

Hey 13tux,

Take a look at this site, it'll show you the basics so that you can get started:

http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_getstarted.asp
Projects: Pith Framework (at 0.5), CactusGUI (at 0.3)

We are passionate about the web, learning, and craftsmanship. We want you, as web designers and developers, to be successful in your careers. We feel, though, that W3Schools is harming the community with inaccurate information. Like any other authoritative educational resource, W3Schools should both hold itself to, and be held to, the highest standards.

We hope we can illuminate why W3Schools is a troublesome resource, why their faulty information is a detriment to the web, and what you (and they) can do about it.

@ Freyr
They failed to point out any resources that were (IMHO) actually any better. Obviously nothing's perfect, but "knowledge is knowledge" wherever you get it.

If I have to link to somewhere else for learning html though, I guess Tizag would be my next choice.

I also wouldn't trust Tizag.

When someone visits your PHP webpage, your web server processes the PHP code. It then sees which parts it needs to show to visitors(content and pictures) and hides the other stuff(file operations, math calculations, etc.) then translates your PHP into HTML. After the translation into HTML, it sends the webpage to your visitor's web browser.

Sky can be red/orange at sunrise :) Typical programmers sleep during that time so many might never see it :D
