Graphics and map

Hello,
My question is pretty simmle


I want soe advises and directions in how to make my map and the graphics for a strategy game lik travian BROWSER BASED
I want some software or only a notepad ?Will i draw the map or what are my choices .At this time i do it as hobby so i am patient
Please help me

Concentrate more on the map , maybe ou could also redirect me somewhere that i can figure things out

use tile map ... so you show like 9x9 tiles, position of tiles and everything is stored in database

use search because such discussion(s) about map making already exist

I would like some pinpoint advices if it could be possible.
Some sites and what languages and proggrames i need.
There are many topics but nothing i fould gives exact iinformation

Google: HTML, FTP, free hosting with php, WAMP/LAMP, PHP, MySQL, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX (in that order and learn in that order).
Download: Notepad (actually you have this one ), WAMP/LAMP, CSS editor, GFX programm.

 - in my opinion you don't need a css editor
 - GFX programm : You could also use some free clipart / pixel art instead to begin with
